Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor

Thank you for visiting my website.  I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor providing psychotherapy with a relaxed and interactive approach.   I have been providing counseling services to individuals, couples and families for over 15 years.

I believe that working together is paramount to the therapeutic experience.  My therapeutic technique is interactive and supportive. Our times together will feel similar to walking along a path, side by side, discovering concerns that are important to living a more meaningful life and enjoying a greater satisfaction in relationships.  Your life stories are important and we will explore these stories: past, present and future.

We will actively work together to identify challenges that interfere with your goals, relationships, and overall sense of well-being.

My Approach

I have a special interest in and experience working with individuals who struggle with managing anxiety and/or depression, PTSD, life transitions, relationships, adoption/parenting concerns, and Recovery from Childhood Sexual Abuse. Please take a look at my website and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.  I look forward to speaking with you.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic, meaning I drawn on, but am not limited to specific theoretical orientations during counseling sessions.  The majority of my work is centered on Psychodynamic while also borrowing from Person Centered and Cognitive Behavioral theories.  Some techniques used in counseling are: reflective listening, discovering irrational beliefs, evaluating self-talk, identifying cause and effect relationships, examining choices, setting goals and reframing.

I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Western Seminary / The Seattle School of Psychology and Theology, in 1999.  Since then, I have been counseling clients in Raleigh, N.C. and in Europe, working with nationals and North Americans living abroad.

I lived with my family in Italy from 2000 to 2009.  Speaking both English and Italian fluently, my bi-cultural experience proves to be advantageous in my work with individuals and families living in culturally diverse situations.  Having grown up in Cary, North Carolina, I also enjoy working with those who presently call the Research Triangle area home.
